Wine Tasting at at Castello di Montepò : The Castle of Montepò is located in the Scansano countryside, in the center of Tuscany, with a view of Maremma in Grosseto. The visit: First of all, I’d like to express my gratitude to Mr. Tancredi Biondi Santi, who oversees Castello di Montepò, and Denise Caricati, the hospitality manager, for the invitation and wine tasting. Well, the more I talk about the castle and vineyards, the less it is. The Farina Vineyards: Born in the 19th century In Pedemonte, the 45-hectare estate is in the center of the Valpolicella Classico. The Farina family passed down their love of wine. Wine: Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico DOCG was born in San Pietro. Aged in Slovenian barrels and barriques. An outstanding blend of 50% Corvina, 20% Corvinone, 20% Rondinella, 10% Molinara, Oseleta, and Turchetta. Garnet-colored with ruby red reflections. Wonderfully complex wine with aromas of spice and cocoa as well as ripe black cherry. An elegant, warm, and well-balanced wine.

The Castle of Montepò: To commemorate Sassoalloro’s 30th anniversary (from 1991 to 2021), Sassoalloro ORO was created. A castle with 55 vineyards for wine culture preservation. Led by Jacopo Biondi Santi and Tancredi Biondi Santi in the middle of Maremma. This journey began when Ferrucio Biondi Santi planted the first vineyard in Montalcino, which produced Sangiovese GROSSO or BRUNELLO wines from Sangiovese CLONE that had been carefully selected. The winemaking technique that was documented in the history of Italian winemaking.

A heavy bodied wine made entirely from Sangiovese grosso. Bright and rich. It has a velvety texture in the mouth and a very long finish. A very elegant wine with excellent potential for longevity. A spice-scented, complex wine. The incredible BBS11 clone has made this a harmonious wine.

Wine: One of the most significant wines in the evolution of Zenato’s oenology. A wine with a medium body and a deep ruby red color. Made with 85% Corvina, 5% Rondinella and 10% Corvinone. Deep aromas of sweet spice, cocoa, and ripe berries characterize Ripassa di Zenato wine. Soft, velvety, and generous.The finish has intense aromas of red fruits, a balsamic note, and smooth tannins. On the palate, Ripassa has hints of fruit and very fine tannins, and it has an aroma of chocolate and spices.

Slight garnet edge with hints of berries, dried fruits, herbs, and wood spices. It has balanced tannins and a soft palate. An elegant and complex wine.
