Winery Santa Sofia: From 1811 to the present. Founded in the 16th century in Pedemonte. A business that focuses on making the best Valpolicella wines the old-fashioned way. Quite possibly the most established winery in the entire veneto district that had spread the word about itself for its red wines. It has been listed as a UNESCO world heritage site since 1996. Managed by the Begnoni family, which in 1964 introduced the first Amarone.The Santa Sofia winery is now one of the landmarks of this highly regarded region, and the company sells its wines in over 60 countries.

Wine: A medium bodied wine. 70% Corvina and Corvinone and 30% Rondinella are used in the vinification of the valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore di Santa Sofia. Slight garnet edge with hints of berries, dried fruits, herbs, and wood spices. It has balanced tannins and a soft palate. An elegant and complex wine.
