Within a short time, Tuscany established itself as a wine-producing region, producing and supplying 14,000,000 liters of wine to the larger market. The wine scene in Tuscany was forever altered in the 1960s by new regulations and advancements in wine production. Today, over 63,500 hectares of vineyards produce 7.3 billion ounces of wine annually in Tuscany.
